Strasser Writing Prize Winners Announced
Congratulations to the selected winners of the Strasser Writing Prize! The Strasser Reading Committee had some tough decisions to make with so many well qualified entrants this year!  Find out who won, and in which category, at our blog.


Study Hours in the UHP Office
Escape Gelman and study in the townhouse! We’ll have hot chocolate and coffee per usual, and will also have some brain food available for snacking.  Check out the schedule below, come by to study with us!

Thursday, May 6:     5pm-10pm
Friday, May 7:                     None
Saturday, May 8:      3pm-10pm
Sunday, May 9: 3pm-10pm
Monday, May 10:      5pm-10pm
Tuesday, May 11: 5pm-10pm

Of course, you’re also welcome to come study in our office during regular business hours of 9-5, Monday through Friday, space permitting.

Studying Abroad?
Leaving campus this fall?  Stop by the office to fill out a study abroad form to let us know – and don’t forget to send us a postcard!

Juniors
Questions about the capstone and/or the honors senior thesis/seminar requirement?  Please come to the Honors Office to pick up an information packet, ask questions, and if you’re still stumped, make an appointment to discuss your options with an advisor.

Seniors, Save the Date  – Graduation Reception
Senior Graduation Reception is set for Saturday May 15th, 5:30pm-7:30pm. If you haven’t received information on how to obtain your Honor Cords and Graduation Reception tickets please contact us immediately.

Paid Internship with Rescue Social Change Group
RSCG is looking for a 12 week, part-time, paid summer intern with an interest in marketing, public health, branding, design, communications, and/or social change.  If you’re interested, or want to learn more, click rescuescg.com/careers.

GWDYEP – Volunteer in DC Schools!
GW’s District Youth Empowerment Program, a program co-sponsored by the University Honors Program and Business School, is looking for dedicated volunteers who are interested in making a difference in the lives of underprivileged DC youth. Students are currently volunteering at two elementary schools and one high school, and we are looking for additional students who are interested in tutoring, mentoring, fundraising, special events, etc. Schedules can be flexible and we welcome any time commitment you want to give.

Intern with Teach for America
Teach for America is hiring a Campus Campaign Coordinator to assist recruitment staff in developing and executing a strategic plan aimed at inspiring top GW students to apply for the 2011 corps.  This is a paid position.  For more information, visit www.teachforamerica.org/campuscampaign coordinator.
