GroundBreakers Social Impact Fellowship

GroundBreakers is a network organization and emerging solutions hub working to support homegrown development globally through connecting civic innovators and centralizing best practice in social change. From women’s rights to holistic education to refugee rights and beyond, GroundBreakers serves to convene ideas, people, and movements to amplify and accelerate civic innovation globally. GroundBreakers is a fast-growing social enterprise with a presence in 36 countries.

The GroundBreakers Social Impact Fellowship presents a vital opportunity for students with interests at the intersections of social change, journalism, international development, and policy advocacy to center their passions and skills in supporting leading civic innovation. Fellows conduct research and analysis on innovative models of social impact, expand their professional network, and share their writing with a global audience. Fellows will join a D.C. based team in regular meetings.

Work performed

Fellows assist in building sectorized transnational leadership innovation networks through outreach and network engagement; conduct interviews with leading civic innovators; write media features of innovative models of social impact; and lead analyses of social innovation models within the GroundBreakers network.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Prior experience in interviewing and writing is highly desired.
• Coursework in International Relations, International Development, Public Policy, Journalism, or related fields.
• Strong critical thinking and analytic skills.
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in leading community outreach and engaging networks of people.
• Dedication to contributing to a positive and supportive work environment and being a strong team player.
• Candidates must be self-directed and able to work independently.
